- Costa Adeje: the south's most established tourist zone, with a high density of accommodation — most buggy hire in Costa Adeje and nearby tours pick up from here.
- Los Cristianos and Arona: a neighbouring tourist hub, with departures towards the interior and the coast.
- Guía de Isora: a common access point for mountain roads and the southern side of Teide.
- San Miguel de Abona and Granadilla: less touristy, but within the usual pickup radius of many operators.

What to consider if you're staying in the south
- Drier, sunnier climate: southern Tenerife gets less cloud cover than the north due to the trade winds and the island's terrain — bring plenty of sun protection and hydration.

- Traffic in tourist hubs: in high season there can be more traffic and less parking in the south's tourist zones — allow extra time to reach your pickup point.
